Using Slide Anything PRO
‘Slide Anything PRO’ adds the facility to create an image, video, HTML or shortcode popup for each slide created within your ‘Slide Anything’ slider. To use this ‘popup’ facility follow these instructions:
  • Edit an existing ‘Slide Anything’ slider by clicking on ‘SA Sliders‘ within WordPress, and clicking on existing slider that you have created. This will open the SA Slider edit page.
  • For each slide created within your SA Slider, you will see 3 tabs:
    • Slide Background
    • Slide Link
    • Slide Popup
  • Click on the ‘Slide Popup‘ tab to create a modal popup for a slide
  • Within ‘SA Popup Type‘, select the type of popup you would like to create (‘IMAGE’, ‘VIDEO’ or ‘HTML’)

Creating an Image Popup

If you have selected ‘IMAGE‘ as your popup type within the ‘Slide Popup’ tab you will be creating an image popup:
  • Click the ‘Set Image‘ to select an image for your Media Library (or you can upload and image) to use as your popup image.
  • Within the ‘Enter popup title‘ box, you can enter a short descriptive title for your popup image, which appears below your popup image when it is displayed
  • Click the ‘Preview’ button to see how your popup image will look
  • NOTE: You can set a smaller version of your popup image as the background image of your slide. To do this:
    • Click the ‘Slide Background‘ tab for the slide
    • Within the ‘Use Popup Image as Slide Background‘ box, select a smaller image size of your popup image to use as your slide background image
    • This is a useful feature for image sliders with popups, because using large image sizes as slide backgrounds can increase the overall page size and loading time of your pages

If you have selected ‘VIDEO‘ as your popup type within the ‘Slide Popup’ tab you will be creating an image popup:
  • Within the ‘Enter YouTube or Vimeo URL‘ box paste a YouTube of Vimeo URL, and click the ‘Set Video‘ button

  • Enter your custom HTML code or your Shortcode within the ‘Enter HTML Code or WordPress Shortcode‘ box
  • If you entered a Shortcode, then you MUST tick the ‘Shortcode Content‘ checkbox

Useful CSS Style for Slide Anything

The Hover-Over effect used on the EdgeWebPages.com home page ‘Image Popup Demo’

On the EdgeWebPages.com HOME PAGE,’Image Popups’ demo slider, when you hover over one of the slides, a text description is displayed on the slides. I’ve been asked many times to explain how I achieved this, so here it is. Use the CSS style below:

#SLIDER_ID .owl-item .sa_hover_container p {
position:absolute;
bottom:10px;
margin:0px 10px;
padding:5px;
background-color:transparent;
color:transparent;
font-size:12px;
line-height:16px;
-webkit-transition:all 300ms ease-in;
-moz-transition:all 300ms ease-in;
-o-transition:all 300ms ease-in;
transition:all 300ms ease-in;
}
#SLIDER_ID .owl-item .sa_hover_container:hover p {
background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0.5);
color:#ffffff;
}

Replace #SLIDER_ID with the CSS ID for your slider, e.g. #myimage_slider. And then within your slides, add the following HTML (using the text editor):

<p>This is the text description for the slide, blah, blah, blah...</p>

(or if you use the Visual Editor, just add a single paragraph)

Customise the Slider Previous/Next Arrows

If you are a developer with some CSS knowledge, you can customise the slider previous/next arrows. So assuming you set the ‘white’ colour scheme for your slider, then you need to modify the CSS code below:

#SLIDER_ID .owl-nav div,
#SLIDER_ID .owl-nav button {
margin-top:-20px !important;
line-height:30px !important;
height:40px !important;
width:30px !important;
}
#SLIDER_ID .owl-nav .owl-prev {
left:10px;
}
#SLIDER_ID .owl-nav .owl-next {
right:10px;
}
.white #SLIDER_ID .owl-nav .owl-prev {
background:rgba(0,0,0,0.3) url('../images/icon_prev.png') no-repeat center center !important;
}
.white #SLIDER_ID .owl-nav .owl-next {
background:rgba(0,0,0,0.3) url('../images/icon_next.png') no-repeat center center !important;
}
.white #SLIDER_ID .owl-nav .owl-prev:hover,
.white #SLIDER_ID .owl-nav .owl-next:hover {
background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0.8) !important;
}

Replace #SLIDER_ID with the CSS ID for your slider, e.g. #myimage_slider.
